Overview:

The content of this course will provide the learner with an overview of the Foundry Walk-in Counselling, Single-Session service model. The student will learn about the rationale and benefits of the model, in addition to the standards to support the implementation of the WIC model. Learners will hear from the perspectives of Foundry senior clinicians on the WIC and SFBT model implementation process, the benefits, and the challenges.  

This training is a requirement for all new Foundry service providers and partners who provide walk-in counselling services at their Foundry centre.  

Intended Audience:  

With supervisor approval, this training is open to: 

  • Clinical counsellors and service providers who deliver walk-in counselling services 
  • Foundry clinical supervisors  
  • Foundry centre leads/managers 
  • Foundry service providers and non-clinical staff who don't provide walk-in counselling, may also take this course if interested in learning more about the modality and service model

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the Foundry walk-in, single session model. 
  • Describe the expectations for how the Foundry Walk-in model is delivered at centres and the practice changes required, at a beginner level 
  • Describe the elements and therapeutic stance that make up the Solution-Focused Brief Therapy modality.  
  • Recognize how the SFBT model is applied within the Foundry WIC single-session model 
  • Know the clinical practice supports within your Foundry centre (context of work) 
  • Be familiar with the SFBT clinical practice tools.
